Recognition for collection of historic photographs

beryl General news

Congratulations to one of our Council members, Hugh G Roberts, on the recognition he received recently by the Welsh Council for Voluntary Action for his work on his collection of photographs of  Barmouth that can be seen here

Adult category – Hugh Griffith Roberts

A retired National Park officer has spent most of the past decade curating ‘probably the best collection’ of historic photographs in Britain, generating worldwide interest and building community cohesion in a seaside town with a historically transient population. Barmouth resident Hugh Griffith Roberts has also helped promote digital inclusion among older people, encouraging them to use a website to view the pictures and share them by email with friends.
